Damien Ryan is Artistic Director of Sport for Jove theatre company, and currently deep in rehearsals directing Hamlet, to be staged by Bell Shakespeare.

He took time out from thinking about Shakespeare’s most high-profile play to talk to me about the plays Shakespeare wrote that we don’t get the chance to see on stage so often, particularly in Australia.

He and I have quite a few opinions on Shakespeare’s hidden gems that are due to be brought out of the vaults, polished, and given a sparkly setting.
